How to survive and thrive in a world without work

I wrote a book about how survive and thrive in a world without work, where automation and machine learning and artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic take over.

The book is the result of 21 years of R&D and millions invested and over 20,000 hours invested. If a large strategy consultancy had done this work it would have cost about R130 million (US$7.5 million).

I thought it might take us another 15 years to get there. Little did I know that it would take six months and that it has already happened according to the NY Times "About 30 million American workers — one out of every five — are collecting jobless benefits."

My book is here: It is only R30 (US$1.73) until the end of July, after which it will be R60 (US$3.45). I have priced it for wide dissemination among the middle class who are suffering the most at the moment and who can "fix" this if they (we) wish. We cannot rely on the people and systems who got us into this mess and who want to "get back to normal." There is a new normal at the moment. We must grab it and accept it and work with it.

Whilst you’ve been building businesses and looking at the next 5 years, others have been looking at the next 100 and 1000 years. No blame. Just let’s get on with it and stop being PC and say it as it is.

I did a part time Executive MBA at Cranfield in the UK in 1991 / 1992 and I knew something was wrong, and in 1999, I invented a new retirement paradigm (Note that I define retirement differently to other people), which morphed into a way to survive a world without work, ie the fourth industrial revolution, a world of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning), and now that Covid19 has finally arrived to teach humanity to realise the mistake that most of us have been making for the past 500 years, and wake us up, to the possibility of infinity and real abundance on earth, I realise that I’m here at exactly the right time. I’ve been praying (and talking and writing) for over 20 years that Office Workers will work from home with all the associated environmental (external and internal) benefits this brings. I didn’t know that God (Mother Nature if you like) would provide Covid19, but it has quickly shown that we can work from home. It has closed conference centres, hopefully forever. Conferences are online where they should be and I can attend conferences anywhere in the world without leaving my house! And hopefully business travel will cease except for building and fixing machines and other hands on requirements. People should only be able to travel to visit family and for sport. And schools can close, but schooling can continue.

We cannot rely on the people and the systems which got us into this mess, which includes the big think tanks, strategy consultancies, WEF, (old fashioned) accountants, economists, etc. What we need to do is “sell" a new system and the first real paradigm shift in 500 years since Enclosure started, to bring the world out of its crises whilst at the same time “fixing" the world (as best we can). At some point I realised that working outside the McKinseys and Bains of this world means that I stayed away from dogma, which I don’t have and which I’ve steered clear of, allowing me to learn and understand history and ancient wisdom and realise how it can be applied to the modern world.

No prevents progress

The biggest reason South Africa is critically ill, and what we should do about it.

“No” has become a standard response from people who are protecting their jobs, basically by changing nothing. “No” should actually be “come and talk.” “No” has led to Load Shedding, Job Losses, Unemployment, Lack of Security, Waste and Health Risks e.g. in Milnerton Lagoon, etc.

The fastest way for us to fix this problem is to organise our communities into cooperatives, and then for the cooperative to negotiate on the community's behalf.

Of-course this requires trust and cooperation, a huge problem in a country full of fraud and corruption.

Love your neighbour needs to include Trust your neighbour. I trust those I love.

South African companies fall apart because trust disintegrates.

We need integration.

We need to cooperate and to become interdependent.

This way our costs go down and our security goes up.

I've met Helen Zille and other top DA people over a period of more than 10 years. I've got personal phone numbers of top DA people. I've also met top ANC, IFP, ACDP and other political and business leaders over the years ...

This is a Mandamus that I presented to government in early 2018. 3 working days later, the government declared the Western Cape a disaster area, without ever mentioning my Mandamus.

My Mandamus took me over 500 hours to Research and Develop and Write. I first had to learn and understand how common law works and I studied the South African and USA Constitutions.

Secondly they need to declare the Electricity Act (law) to be unconstitutional.

Thirdly they need to work to Level the Playing Fields to that everyone has the same access to using and supplying electricity (and water and other products).
